Rules for stumbling

Being a StumbleUpon-addict myself, I decided to share some rules for voting:

The Thumb goes down if:

  • it's for/from Micro$oft.
  • a Motifake repeats the text in the picture.
  • it's a Motifake that was originally a LOLCAT.
  • it throws a JS Popup asking me to subscribe to their newsletter.
  • it tells me how to search Google.
  • it's an iPhone-App.
  • it's about software and features the word "buy" on the page.
  • it's about WEP-cracking. Again.
  • it's an antivirus/spyware/adware scanner. Why should I care how to fix the worst OS on this planet?
  • it is more insulting/racist than it is funny.
  • it's about Photoshop.
  • it's a generic "parked domain" site with that stupid smiling girl on it.
  • advertises the newest cellphone/laptop.
  • the first comment on the page is "FIRST!!!!!11ONEONE" or similar.

The Thumb goes up if:

  • it's an open source project.
  • it's an XKCD.
  • it's a new scientific discovery.
  • it's a useful shell-trick.
  • I lol'd.
  • it's about Ubuntu/Debian.
  • an atheist epicaly pwns a theist.

I don't vote if: (aka "meh")

  • it's about KDE.
  • it's about Mandriva/SuSE/RedHat
  • it's kinda funny but old.
  • it's a video of a faceplant or similar.

add deez plox:

Thumb goes UP if:
- it's about KDE (3.x)
- it's about Python/Perl/Java and the mightiest OO language of all: HTML .. wait, what?
- page contains useful info for Gentoo systems
- it's a bash.org quote

Thumb goes DOWN if:
- it's about KDE (4.x)
- page proclaims Ubuntu as being the best Linux Distro out there
